The Gazette and Herald Malton today ran a wonderful article in tribute to our very special Dr Victoria Smith-Collins.
Forever missed and never forgotten.

Our own Flugel Player, Esther Pashby, swapped instruments to perform The Last Post as part of the Commonwealth Day commemoration service in Scarborough. We are very proud of all our band members who support our local community in lots of differnt ways!

We at Simply Brass would like to extend a heartfelt well done to all the banding ladies that took part in the Brassettes Scratch Band performing for Assets IWD event in Stockton. Here is our very own Clare Avery representing all the strong, creative women of Simply Brass!

We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to our very good friend Cliff Hicks, for taking the baton this evening. We all, as ever, thoroughly enjoyed the evening and had a lot of fun playing his original compositions/arrangements!

It is with great sadness we have to announce that our beloved solo horn player and friend, Victoria Smith-Collins, lost her long and brave fight with cancer on 15th February.
Following her return to the UK, Vicki joined Simply Brass in June 2022, having previously played with Swinton Band, Rothwell and the National Youth Band of Great Britain. She soon established herself as a soloist within the band and always brought a smile to concerts and rehearsals.
Vicki was first diagnosed with cancer in 2013 and, despite the cancer returning a few years later, she remained positive and was still playing up to the end of 2025
Vicki was not only a band member but true friend to many and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Sending our condolences to her family and friends.

Simply Brass are delighted to announce the appointment of Sally Mansell as our new Musical Director. Sally has extensive experience in brass bands as both a conductor and player and we very much look forward to this new partnership!

Our multi-talented horn player and librarian is treading the boards as Priscilla, the Evil Queen of the Fairies in Sleeping Beauty on 6th and 7th February. The Beggars Bridge Players are performing their annual pantomime in Glaisdale - seats for the Friday are all sold out but there are still a few left for Saturday! We wish her all the very best.
We Welcome David to our cornet section in Simply Brass.
David has recently moved to the area and has joined us after being a valued member of Easingwold Town Band.
We are very happy to welcome David into the band family.

We Welcome Denise to Simply Brass.
Denise is returning to playing after a long break.
The band are delighted she has decided to join us on the Cornet ranks on 3rd Cornet.

Our talented Flugelhorn player Esther Pashby played the Last Post at todays 80th D Day Anniversary
